1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Built For The Badge ("the platform," "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. We may update these terms at any time; continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

Built For The Badge is a fitness and career readiness platform designed for women pursuing careers in firefighting, law enforcement, military, and emergency medical services. The platform provides training programs, career readiness assessments, workout tracking, and educational content. We offer free and paid subscription tiers.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use this platform. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement. The platform is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Use by organizations requires explicit written permission.

4. Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.
• You must provide accurate and current information when registering.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features require a paid subscription (Pro, Elite, or Department tiers).

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings. Access continues through the end of the paid period.
• We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods except where required by law.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

6. Free Trial

Where offered, free trials provide access to paid features for a limited period. At the end of the trial, you will be charged the applicable subscription rate unless you cancel before the trial ends. Trial eligibility is one per user and may not be combined with other offers.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Share, resell, or redistribute platform content without written permission
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the platform's code or content
• Post false, misleading, or harmful content in community features
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Use automated tools to access the platform without permission
• Impersonate any person or entity

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination without refund.

8. Health and Fitness Disclaimer

Important: The fitness content, training programs, and readiness assessments provided by Built For The Badge are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• Consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any new exercise program.
• Stop exercising immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, or other symptoms.
• Readiness scores and assessments are estimates based on self-reported data and should not be relied upon as official fitness certifications.
• Career entrance standards referenced on the platform reflect information available at the time of creation and may change. Always verify standards directly with the hiring agency.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the platform — including training programs, assessments, educational materials, graphics, and software — is the intellectual property of Built For The Badge or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our explicit written permission. User-generated content (such as community posts) remains your property, but you grant us a license to display it on the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Built For The Badge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim. We provide the platform "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or behavior harmful to other users or the platform. You may delete your account at any time via account settings. Upon termination, your access to paid features ends and we may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits.
